Of these three blogs that I read,
http://taganskitchen.blogspot.com/, http://www.productiveflourishing.com/, http://www.rebeccablood.net/index.html,
Tagan's kitchen interested me the most. Not only because I love food, but the
way the blog is set up is what interest me. I very much liked how she explained
the food before giving any ingredients or pictures. She gives a description of
the food and then adds a picture. She then gives a link to a full description
of the recipe. But she also adds her one recipe for someone on a budget like
herself. After some post, she also adds three recommendation links for people
who like the original post. To me that’s a great way to advertise her other
posts. The productive flourishing blog is also set up very well. It has a video
on the home page to help guide the reader. The home page also has three links
that are useful and catch the readers eye. Having a home page with minimal
links is also good because it doesn’t overwhelm the reader. The third blog,
Rebecca's Pocket is a more simple blog.
It has a very simple backdrop with many links on each side. For my blog I will try to incorporate all
these ideas into mine. Eventually I would like to have links for many things
that we talk about in class. I plan on adding many videos, pictures and links,
depending on what we talk about. But the main thing that I am going to have in
my blog is open thoughts. That’s the whole reason behind the name. College to
me is all about opening up your mind and letting other views and my own view
collide. I plan on posting other blogs that have opposite views of me so that
you, the reader, can compare the two. And as an individual with open thoughts,
you can comment on topics that you agree with or disagree with.
